Energy is the backbone of modern society, powering our cities, homes, industries, transportation, and communications. Our dependence on fossil fuels, responsible for more than 75% of global greenhouse gas emissions, is driving climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation.
Fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas are non-renewable. They emit large amounts of greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide and methane. Their emissions trap heat and accelerate global warming.
